What a fantastic evening. The colors of diwali fireworks lit the sky and the children having fun with crackers was great to watch. The programs were mesmerizing, with the kids doing justice to their performance. Adults too had their share of songs and the karaoke tracks with Rajkumars hits to the groovy songs like Ninnadale and SRK tracks had everyone enjoy the performances. Let us not forget the devotional song rendition by one of the newest member of the KAGG group. It was great to see so many new faces. Everyone participated to make it a fun filled event. September 12, 2015. Perfect weather conditions for a picnic. Cool breeze, slightly sunny and importantly no rain. It could have been a better time to celebrate the picnic. And so we did. Legacy park was the Venue and KAGG volunteers did a fine job with the setup. The kids and adults alike had a lot of fun.

The attendees wanted to continue on with the picnic, which is a compliment to the organizers and the volunteers.

All in all a fun filled day. Could not have asked for more.

KAGG Over the years. A story then & NOW
(As a build up to the event we will be looking at KAGG over the years.)

It is surpring to see how far we have come. From the humble beginnings in the year 2007 to 2015, we have come a long way.

2007 was the year KAGG was born. A group of volunteers (small then) came together with the idea of getting the community together. With an intention for representation of the Kannada community as a sizeable population in Greenville. The idea was sown and like minded people got together and KAGG was formed. It was not easy back then, just starting out. Well, more like a baby learning to crawl. There were challenges. Not big enough to deter the resolve of the volunteers. They marched ahead full speed with one goal in mind. Like in cricket, a vision to win the match. In our case it was win the hearts and minds of the community.

On the day April 21, 2007, some nervousness, anxiety and eager anticipation the day dawns, the volunteers work towards putting up a good show. Hard at work they bonded together with a sense of oneness.

People started pouring in and the space was full. With bated breath they waited for the end of the event. And Lo behold! It was a success! Everyone had fun everyone enjoyed and pretty much everyone participated.

This gave the volunteers enough confidence to commit themselves to another year of celebrating the KAGG Ugadi. Little did they know then the scale at which the organization will grow and the support from the community will grow. And the venue, Puff! would grow leaps and bounds.

I am sure you are eager to see how we were back then. Take a look. KAGG Ugadi 2007 & KAGG Picnic 2007

And Ofcourse! NOW (KAGG in 2014)

Stay tuned for updates of the next years.......

-- Kannada Association of Greater Greenville (Jan 15, 2015) --

KAGG has over the years grown leaps and bounds. We now can boast of a significant increase in the presence at the KAGG UGADI function. The event has a majority of the local Asian Indian community. In the past we have had visitors from Atlanta, Ashville, Raliegh & relatives attending the function from far of places like California. We also have had people from different ethnicities come to the function as well.

We thank all the sponsors who have/will be renewing their sponsorship in 2015.

Why this is a good time to sponsor the KAGG UGADI function?*

If website traffic patterns are any indication, we receive the maximum traffic (over the span of the year) leading upto the KAGG UGADI event.

The visitors and source region also vary significantly during this time and increase as we near the UGADI event.

The sooner you are on board the higher the visibility

The maximum traffic is during the month of the event

The website traffic has grown by approx. 50% since 2013 to 2014.

We are aware of instances where visitors have looked up information like website address, phone #s other information on the KAGG website. Because they remember seeing it on the site.

Last year in October we had 90% of the traffic as compared to the month of the event in March. Why you ask? Searches for 'Kannada Rajyotsava' lead visitors to

The high traffic does not have to end at the event. We try to keep the traffic up even after the event.
